Job Overview

Bluestones Medical is currently recruiting experienced and highly skilled Accident & Emergency (A&E) Nurses to work within Ysbyty Gwynedd and surrounding emergency care settings.

This is an excellent opportunity for dedicated emergency nurses who thrive in fast-paced environments and are committed to delivering high-quality urgent and emergency care. The successful candidate will work within a busy A&E department, providing rapid assessment, treatment, and ongoing care to patients presenting with a wide range of acute conditions and injuries.

Flexible agency shifts are available including days, nights, weekends, and long days to suit individual availability.

Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Responsibilities
  • Deliver safe, effective, and high-quality emergency nursing care within the A&E department.
  • Undertake triage, rapid assessment, and prioritisation of patients.
  • Administer medications and emergency treatments in line with clinical protocols and NMC standards.
  • Monitor and respond to deteriorating patients, escalating care appropriately.
  • Assist with emergency procedures, trauma care, and resuscitation situations when required.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
Patient Care
  • Provide compassionate, patient-centred care in high-pressure environments.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, relatives, and carers, offering reassurance and clear information.
  • Promote dignity, privacy, and safeguarding at all times.
  • Ensure adherence to infection prevention and control standards.
Team Working
  • Work collaboratively with doctors, paramedics, healthcare assistants, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Participate in clinical handovers, trauma calls, and emergency response situations.
  • Support junior staff and contribute to a safe and supportive team environment.
Compliance & Professional Standards
  • Adhere to the NMC Code of Conduct and all hospital policies.
  • Maintain safeguarding awareness and escalate concerns appropriately.
  • Participate in mandatory training and continuing professional development.
  • Ensure compliance with clinical governance, health and safety, and documentation standards.
Person SpecificationEssential Requirements
  • Valid NMC registration as a Registered Nurse.
  • Minimum 6 months UK A&E or acute hospital experience.
  • Strong clinical assessment, triage, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Flexible approach to shift patterns.
Desirable
  • Previous NHS emergency department experience.
  • ALS, ILS, or trauma training.
  • Experience with electronic patient record systems.
